Good day, my dear readers !
I haven't written a full-blown issue for two weeks, and it seems it has been ages.
How have your last weeks passed ? Estonians enjoy the spring - that I know for sure, and what about foreigners... ? :)
My two weeks flew by very actively, sometimes tiring, but in general - positive. I can assure you, that action eliminates all unproductive houghts from your head. So, if you suddenly find yourself floating in negative thoughts, fill your calendar with meetings with friends, workouts, trainings, and take responsibility - it's a great cure from every blue and sickness.
And when we start DOING, the World rolls out a red carpet in front of us, and even things that seem like bummers (the keyword is seem ;)) - are, actually, a correction of our way. A GPS-navigator with an automatic steering system. So we can only relax and enjoy the ride.
Today I'd like to talk about everything going as needed. This topic was given to me my by colleague. She called it a pleasant coincidences, but I, having pondered this thought a bit, understood, that it is actually wider, than pleasant coincidences, it is a law of nature.
"Everything that is done, is done for the best."
Two weeks ago we planned to go to the theater with my colleague. We bought tickets, agreed, that my son goes visiting her son, and her husband agreed to look over the boys, while we enjoy estonian culture. And then one day before the day X she notifies me that her son has got sick, which means, the boys cannot be together, which means, I have to look for other options. I started thinking, she was a bit upset, that she couldn't fulfill our agreement, and the next day... the play was cancelled. :) Or rather postponed because of actor's illness. In the end, the meeting of the boys was not cancelled altogether, but postponed for a month, agreement is still in place, and everybody is happy. Two illnesses gave quite a positive outcome in the end.

Some time ago I would have probably be disappointed because of two bummers in two days, but now I believe, that everything, that is cancelled and is not happening, is cancelled for a reason. And every time I am glad, that Universe - again - cared about me - not letting me somewhere, where I am not supposed to be.

Some time ago I was upset, that something is going not the way I want it to, and I am not where I am supposed to be, and I can't get where I want to be. Now I trust everything, that happens around, and believe, that I am in the right place in the right time.
Long time ago I started thinking about letting my son go home from school on his own. But I didn't dare to start. One evening I was busy, and agreed with my friend, that my son spends an evening at her house, and her husband will pick him up from school. 5 minutes before school ended her husband called and said that his car is broken, and he is going to school by foot. I started worrying, being in a traffic jam myself, a teacher in school wasn't really inclined to stay longer than usual, and suddenly, when I called my son, he offered me to go towards the friend's husband by himself. I agreed, and he got his first experience of going home from school all by himself, not all the way to home, but still. He was proud of himself, I was proud of him, friend's husband was proud that he still fulfilled his promise, and my friend was proud of his husband. :) Everyone was happy, although at first it seemed like there were only bummers.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday's routine we sometimes lose the big picture. If you stop for a moment in the evening, sit down with a cup of tea, glass of wine or beer (choose what suits you best) and ponder in your head the sequence of events during the day, week, month, last years - very time generalizing and widening the viewpoint angle, you will discover a perfectly logical path, complex and winding, and all events fall into place on that path like stones on a road, and every event is important - you wouldn't have the second and the third event without the first, and you'd never have the end result, which is always what we want.

Speaking of this I can endlessly cite Steve Jobs, his famous speech about connecting the dots. Every event, every choice is a dot on the line....
"you can't connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something -- your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever -- because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference." Steve Jobs
And so, the most important thing in life is at any given moment do what you love most, that makes your heart sing, and trust yourself that everything will be fine.
